Training is a range of activities giving employees job-related skills and knowledge. The activities and tasks in this lesson resource for Business exam specifications will help students to apply their knowledge and understanding about the key types of training given to employees, including induction, on-the-job and off-the-job training. Students will further develop their key analysis and judgement skills (vital for success in exams) by analysing and evaluating the most suitable methods of training for particular employee case study scenarios. The lesson aims are as follows: - Define what training is and describe the different types of training - Explain the advantages and disadvantages of different types of training - Recommend suitable types of training that should be given to employees This lesson resource comes complete with a PowerPoint Presentation, starter activity, key terms and lesson activities/worksheets, including discussion about advantages and disadvantages of different training types. One of these activities is designed to be interactive and shown via the SmartBoard to classes, however it is included in the PowerPoint Presentation slides as well. There is also a plenary understanding in order to assess student understanding and demonstrate evidence of learning.
